Founded in the heart of Kathmandu, Thaukothau emerged from the belief that the extraordinary artistic heritage of the Nepali community — its festivals, architecture, crafts, and rituals — deserves a champion who speaks fluently in both the language of tradition and the vocabulary of the contemporary world. Our founders, rooted in Nepali culture and trained in modern event production and visual arts, built this studio as a bridge: honoring what was, illuminating what is, and imagining what cultural life can become. Every project we undertake is an act of cultural stewardship — and an act of love.

Laxmi is an illustrator and visual artist with a background in fine arts and children's book illustration. Her work combines storytelling, mixed media, and watercolor to explore themes of emotion, identity, and nature.
Nabina oversees accounting and financial administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping and smooth financial operations.
Mijja supports the planning and coordination of events, helping ensure seamless execution and meaningful experiences for participants and partners.
Amit is a self-taught photographer based in Bhaktapur, recognized for his profound passion for storytelling through visual media. His photography career began in 2020 with a position as a photojournalist, where he has since dedicated himself to capturing impactful moments.
Abin is a cinematographer, photographer, and editor specializing in visual storytelling across film, photography, and digital media. His work combines creative vision with technical expertise to produce engaging and impactful visual content.
Mrigaja is a Nepal-based digital illustrator and visual artist with expertise in illustration, graphic design, sketching, and digital tools like Procreate and Adobe Creative Cloud. With an MFA in Graphic Communication from Kathmandu University, they bring a unique style to the art and media production industry.
Asish specializes in audio recording, mixing, and mastering for a wide range of multimedia projects. With a keen ear for sound and attention to detail, he helps create polished and immersive audio experiences for film, digital media, and creative productions.
Priyanka is a visual artist based in Kathmandu, Nepal. She sees photography as a powerful tool for public communication. Her personal projects have been exhibited on several platforms in recent years.
Aniket is a content creator and videographer specializing in visual storytelling and digital media production. His work focuses on creating engaging video content that captures narratives, events, and creative concepts with a strong visual approach.
Sameer is a committed and inventive filmmaker, editor, and photographer with a profound passion for capturing life's moments. He excels in translating creative visions into reality, guiding projects from concept to completion with a keen eye for detail and a flair for storytelling.
Niranjan is a Chartered Accountant accredited by ICAN and ICAI and serves as the Managing Partner of Khaniya & Associates. As Auditor for thaukothau, he provides financial oversight, auditing, and strategic advisory support. He has pursued advanced studies in business and management and is a Doctorate Candidate.
Shital specializes in corporate law, providing legal guidance across a range of projects and organizational matters. Her work includes legal research, drafting applications and legal documents, and supporting the team in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Aman Shahi is a Kathmandu-based filmmaker, photographer, graphic designer, and event producer specializing in cultural heritage, community identity, and visual storytelling. His work bridges traditional crafts with contemporary design and event production, creating immersive and culturally rich experiences.
Matina is an event producer and designer passionate about creating meaningful spatial experiences. With a background in architecture and event production, she brings together creativity, strategic planning, and project management to deliver exhibitions, brand activations, festivals, and experiential environments from concept to execution.
